What Will We Do?
We begin each worship service with a dynamic team of devotional leaders. The devotional leaders ‘open the doors’ of the church and invite God in, while welcoming each person in, through prayer, scripture, songs, and music. Songs and music are a variety of genres and range from upbeat gospel to the oldest hymns.
Services are times of teaching, preaching, praise and worship. The message of the day is shared from God and delivered by our Pastor through supporting scriptures and life stories. The message is followed by that sacred time period, we call “Worship Through Commitment”, when everyone is given the opportunity to commit their lives to Christ and become a part of The Creek as a candidate for baptism or candidate joining from Christian Experience. This sacred period is also sometimes an opportunity to come together at the altar, and join hands, for collective prayer.
The first Sunday of each month Communion is served as a reminder of God’s great sacrifice on the cross for our sins. Every baptized believer is encouraged to join us in this time. The period of giving or offering is then facilitated by our Diaconate Ministry.
WHAT WE BELIEVE
JESUS
We believe that Jesus the Christ was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary. We believe, as the Scriptures, that He is true God and true man. Moreover, we believe He is the second person of the Holy Trinity. Moreover, we believe He lived a sinless life, was crucified under Pontius Pilate, arose bodily from the dead, ascended into heaven, and sits at the right hand of God the Creator as our High Priest and Advocate. (Matthew 1:18-25; Luke 1:25-38; Romans 9:5; Titus 2:13)
GOD
We believe there is one, and only one, living and true God eternally existing in three Persons: God the Creator, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit each of whom is equal in all attributes of deity and characteristics of personality. We believe God is the Supreme Ruler of Heaven and Earth, for God is the creator of all things therein made earth out of nothing and humanity. (Genesis 1:1, 26; Matthew 28:19; John 1:1,3; 4:24; Acts 5:3,4; Romans 1:20; Ephesians 4:5,6; 2 Corinthians 13:14)
HOLY SPIRIT
We believe the Holy Spirit is the third Person of the Trinity, the unseen presence of God and was sent into the world by the Creator and Redeemer to apply humankind the saving work of Jesus the Christ. The Holy Spirit is responsible for the revelation of Scriptures to the believer and inspires persons to speak and act truthfully in the world, brings callings for ministry and bestows spiritual gifts for the living. Moreover, we believe the Holy Spirit does the convicting, responsible for regenerating and at the point of Salvation, permanently indwells within the believer. Thereby, allowing each believer to bear its fruit: joy, love, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness and temperance; thus, empowering believers for Christ-like living and service.
WORD OF GOD
We believe that the Scriptures, both Old and New Testaments, are the inspired Word of God, written by men and serves as our supreme and final authority in faith and life. (2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20-21)
HUMAN CONDITION
We believe that humans were created in holiness, made in the image of God and under the Law of God, but freely transgressed and fell from that holy and happy state. Consequently, man incurred both physical and spiritual death, which is ultimately the separation from God. Since then, all humanity are born with a sinful nature and in the need of a savior. Hence, only through God’s saving work in Jesus the Christ can be rescued, reconciled and renewed. (Genesis 1:26-27; 3:1-24; Romans 3:25; 5:12-18; 1 John 1:8)
CHURCH
We believe the church is not a building, rather it is a body of believers; it is not static, but dynamic and forever growing physically and spiritually and essentially missionary. We believe that the Scriptures instruct and command believers to faithfully gather together for prayer, worship, and fellowship in effort to glorify God and God only. We believe it is also where the observance of the believers’ baptism and Lord’s Supper as instructed and established by Jesus the Christ is done. We also believe the head of the church is Jesus the Christ and its governance is theocratic and not democratic. (Hebrews 10:24-25; Acts 2:42-47)
