The Diaconate Team

At the heart of our church’s mission—Serving Christ Wholeheartedly, Building Community Intentionally, and Making Disciples Creatively—is a deep commitment to care for one another. The Diaconate Team exists to embody that mission through compassionate service, personal connection, and spiritual support.
Our Deacons lead and serve across several dedicated care teams that meet practical and spiritual needs within our congregation and community. Through these teams, the Diaconate ministers to the whole person—spirit, soul, and body—reflecting the love of Christ in every act of service.
Whether you are new to the church or looking for a place to serve, the Diaconate Team is here to walk with you, support you, and grow together in faith.
Bereavement Care Team
The Bereavement Care Team provides compassionate support to individuals and families during times of loss within our church community. When a loved one passes away, this team steps in to offer comfort, guidance, and a caring presence.
Support may include home visits before the funeral, assistance with funeral planning, visits to the funeral home, and follow-up care after the service. Whether through prayer, presence, or practical help, the goal is to ensure no one walks through grief alone and to reflect the love and compassion of Christ and the church family during these tender times.

New Members and Prospective Members Care Team
The New Membership and Prospective Members Care Team is committed to helping new and prospective members feel welcomed and connected as they join our church family. This team plays a vital role in introducing individuals to our church’s ministry, ensuring they understand what we do, and guiding them through the steps of becoming an active member.
The team reaches out personally to new members, providing them with important church information and resources. They invite them to church activities and events to foster connection within the congregation. Additionally, the team offers the support of a deacon to help new members get involved and find their place in the church community.
The team also manages records of prospective members, ensuring they receive the appropriate materials and follow-up care. Each new member is assigned a deacon who will offer ongoing care and guidance as they continue their journey of faith with us.
Whether you’re new or considering becoming part of our church family, this team is here to walk alongside you and help you find your place in our community.
Baptism, Communion and Offering Care Team
This team ensures the smooth and reverent coordination of our church’s baptism, communion, and offering services. They provide hands-on support by preparing the elements for the Lord’s Supper, setting up necessary utensils, and assisting in the orderly collection of offerings during worship.
The team also plays a key role in baptism services, helping prepare the baptistry, dressing areas, and offering personal support to both the minister and baptismal candidates.
In addition, this team is responsible for scheduling, training, and coordinating deacons to serve during these sacred moments—ensuring every detail is handled with care, respect, and excellence.

Mission Development and Benevolence Care Team
The Mission Development and Benevolence Care Team leads the way in extending the love of Christ beyond the walls of our church. This team works to identify and launch new mission opportunities, support ongoing outreach efforts, and engage the congregation in meaningful service.
By coordinating with church leaders and volunteers, the team develops and implements mission plans that reflect our calling to serve others wholeheartedly. In addition to mission work, the team also oversees benevolence requests—prayerfully reviewing and responding to needs within the church and community.
Whether it’s organizing local outreach, supporting global missions, or responding to urgent needs, this team helps us live out our faith in action.
Hospital and Nursing Home Care Team
The Hospital and Nursing Home Care Team serves those who are facing health challenges by offering encouragement, prayer, and the presence of Christ’s love. Our goal is to visit any hospitalized church member or regular attendee at least once a week, providing comfort and support during a difficult time.
Each visit is a simple but meaningful expression of care—often including prayer, conversation, and, when appropriate, devotionals or uplifting literature. Whether in a hospital room or a long-term care facility, our team is committed to bringing hope, peace, and connection to those in need.

Vision Development Care Team
The Vision Development Care Team partners closely with the pastor to help shape the future direction of our church. This team plays a vital role in prayerfully discerning and defining both short-term and long-term goals that align with God’s calling for our congregation.
Through collaboration with the Strategic Planning Team and active engagement with church members, the team helps ensure that our priorities remain Christ-centered, Spirit-led, and responsive to the needs of our community. By listening, planning, and praying together, this team helps guide the church forward with purpose and unity.
Fellowship Development Care Team
The Fellowship Development Care Team is dedicated to creating opportunities for our church family to connect and build lasting relationships. This team plans and organizes churchwide events, such as our annual Summer Picnic and quarterly New Member Fellowships. By collaborating with volunteers and church members, the team ensures that these events are engaging, welcoming, and reflect our church’s spirit of community.
Whether you’re new to the church or a long-time member, these gatherings provide a chance to grow in fellowship and strengthen the bonds that make our community truly special.
